I have been fired and not by my boss at my employment.. nope.. I have been fired by my doctor. He no longer wants to be my doctor and I have no idea why except that he said that I didn't get my blood test done fast enough for him and therefore I'm not being compliant. Ok... so I'm 8 months pregnant now, I have done everything he has asked without question and so on this past Tuesday *Oct 16th* I went in and he said that my sugar count was a little high and he wanted me to do a blood test.. so I said Ok.. and after the appointment went to make my appointments to see him again and to get this blood work done. The problem.... well I have to do blood work in the morning and need to be fasting.. and well many of my co workers are out this week because of their own doctor appointments etc.. and one will be out most of next week because of a surgery being done on her as well as some morning appointments she has before that which leaves me the only one there in the morning answering phones.
Yes I have to be there since I schedule for the hospital and someone has to be able to get patients in and registered etc. So I didn't get it done this week and Have been trying to get it so I can do I next week... My doctor called me on Thursday and said since I haven't gotten it done that he no longer wants to be my doctor because he thinks I no longer have the same priorities as he does concerning my pregnancy and that this is very serious (which he never once mentioned in the office when I was there) and so he was uncomfortable being my doctor any longer and I had 2 weeks to find another doctor or he won't turn over my records.
I find him to be very unreasonable in this because I have been compliant to everything he has ever asked me to do and never once questioned him or complained. But since I have a job that won't let me just take off the very next day after my appointment to have some blood work done (which I was not under the impression was too terribly important and needed to be done asap) he fired me.
Don't worry I found another doctor that will accept me and though I was scared that with me being fired from a doctor and being 8months pregnant that no one would take me thinking I was a horrible patient to have. I am blessed to find one that is allowing me to become her patient. And its my first female doctor.... but that is alright.. its all good. I'm excited about it now... wasn't yesterday when i was fired!
I have never heard of a doctor firing a patient but from what I was told from my new doctor, its common in Dallas area because there are so many different doctors that they don't feel bad turning a patient away. Hrm.. interesting. Now can you see why I have little like for doctors and have always avoided them.. they will fire you if you don't do something fast enough for them.. stupid really.
Anyways, I'm healthy and the baby is healthy and growing normally, not too big and not too small and I'm healthy for what its worth.
so that is my drama for the week.
